Stock-Take to Help a Club Out!

Dear club

On the 30th of September CUSSC will be doing a stock take for Bunnings Warehouse. This work will require 30 people.

How does this help CUSSC?

Bunnings will pay CUSSC based on an hourly rate per person who attends. This money will be used to buy products from Bunnings on a trade discount to be used to make our amazing lodge even better. Our Plan is to replace tables and chairs and construct padded seating around the outside of the kitchen area.

We will be able to use this money to buy almost anything else we can think of or that we might need. And other items that are required about the place paint etc.

This work will allow CUSSC to attract more customers like high schools which will in turn keep the club from becoming unsustainable. CUSSC needs your help with this work in the coming summer.

The people who do attend will be given a work pass for next year’s season and will be invited to a BBQ after the stock take is finished.

Half days will be considered.

This work party is your chance to make a lasting difference in order to make CUSSC sustainable

Thanks

Andrew Pattillo

Temple Basin End of Season Retro Party

The end of the season is drawing near, but we ain’t done yet. To make the most of the warm weather, this weekend (26th/27th September) we’ll be having a retro party. Come on up with your one-pieces, straight skis/monoboards and rear-entry ski boots (actually don’t bother about the boots, there’s heaps of ancient boots in ski hire).A-Roscoe!

In other news, it just started snowing at the Basin about an hour ago! Exciting stuff, seeing as we’ve only had one other snowfall since the start of August. Hopefully it continues!

Temple Basin Black Diamond Big Mountain Competition Footage

The Gnomes Freeride Comp wasn’t the only big mountain event at Temple  Basin in the last month, as we’ve also recently hosted the inaugural Black Diamond Big Mountain. It was a great event filled with sick airs and dramatic bails, and made much better viewing than a day at the cricket/rugby. Check out the article on the Chill website and have a gander at the video highlights below:

Gnomes Freeride Weekend Aftermath

It was a few weeks ago now, but the Gnomes Freeride Weekend was a sweet weekend, even if CUBA did take the event title in the inter-club competition.

Event organiser and judge Neil Williman has published an excellent article on the Snowco website explaining what went down for those who weren’t there or whose memory is a little cloudy (with photos by Riley Bathurst). Check it out:

While you’re at it, check out the Snowco rundown on Neil’s win at the K2 Big Mountain Chill Series at Olympus and Cragieburn the other week:

And Neil’s own account of the comp, “Someone gave me money for skiing!”
